Can massage

For the prevention and treatment of certain injuries and diseases, can massage or massage with cans is used. At the heart of can massage is the reflex mechanism, starting with irritation of the skin receptors created in the bank by vacuum. The vacuum causes a significant (more than 140 times) local rush of blood to the tissues. The intensity of metabolic, immune, regenerative processes in tissues increases tens and hundreds of times. However, a significant proportion of the body’s immune forces, activated by the reflex effect of a vacuum, is aimed at removing the effects of can massage.

Technique and technique of can massage
A can massage is performed as follows: the massaged surface is lubricated with heated oil (liquid paraffin, eucalyptus, sunflower, fir, etc.). Then take a jar with a capacity of approximately 200 ml and create a vacuum in it. Russian method: a stick of lightened cotton wool, pre-soaked in ether or alcohol, is introduced into the jar for one or two seconds, then the tampon is removed and the jar is quickly applied to the desired area of the body.

Tibetan method: place a lighted special candle in a jar on a wide base and install it on the patient’s body, and when the candle goes out in the jar, proceed to massage. Also for can massage use special silicone or plastic cans; they are simply applied and compressed, thereby creating a vacuum. The suction jar makes sliding massage movements – rectilinear, spiral, zigzag. In this case, the skin should be pulled into the jar no more than 1.5 cm.

The can moves smoothly and continuously throughout the procedure, in order to avoid excessive retraction of the skin. The direction of movement of the can is mainly along the lymph and blood flow, namely: on the back – from the bottom up, on the chest – along the intercostal spaces from front to back (from the sternum to the spine), on the stomach – clockwise along the large intestine.

Cupping massage is accompanied by sensations of moderate pain, burning, heat. The skin in the area of the procedure becomes slightly swollen. To remove unwanted effects after a can massage, a light squeezing massage is performed.

The duration of the massage is 5-15 minutes daily or every other day. Cupping massage is indicated for colds, bronchitis, pneumonia, myositis, lumbago, osteochondrosis of the spine, lumbosacral radiculitis (not in acute form!), Etc.

After the massage is finished, the patient should be wrapped in a blanket, give a glass of tea with lemon or raspberry.

Cupping massage has a powerful reflex effect on the receptors of blood vessels and tissues, which provokes the strengthening of immune reactions and their consolidation. Also, biologically active substances — enzymes that stimulate metabolic, regenerative, and immune reactions — are formed in the zone of can-vacuum exposure, which significantly improves the condition of tissues, and removes them in the presence of pathologies in the tissues. The vacuum method has another important function. Worldwide, canned massage is recognized as the most effective tool in the fight against cellulite, since vacuum destroys pathological fatty capsules and formations.
