The first type is sports massage. This type is used to improve the athlete’s shape, relieve fatigue and increase tone, as well as for the prevention of the musculoskeletal system. Sports massage is divided into preliminary and restorative.
Preliminary or mobilization is carried out immediately before training, in order to prepare the neuromuscular apparatus for loads, respiratory and cardiovascular systems, as well as to prevent the occurrence of injuries and sprains. Restorative massage is usually done after training or competition so that the athlete can relieve fatigue, if possible, with body oil and massage.
